I hope everyone is doing well and not getting too stir crazy yet! I know a lot of people have more free time now that they are home. So what better way to fill your time then to get into a workout routine? Staying active is so important for not only your physical health but also your mental health. When I workout, I always feel so much better and less stressed! I have put together a guide to my favorite at home workout apps. They are so easy to use and some of them require no extra equipment. I have transformed my basement into a “studio.” The best part: all of these apps are offering a free trial! These workouts are fun and will keep you both fit and happy.
Okay, I am not going to lie, I really love CorePower. I started doing it last summer when I was interning in Dallas. My co-worker and I decided to try it out and we fell in love! We went back to work and could not stop talking about it. The cool thing about CorePower is that they offer different levels of yoga: C1, C2, YS, and more. YS which stands for yoga sculpt is my favorite. It is a power yoga class that incorporates weights. I love it because I feel like I am getting in a good stretch but also working on strengthening my full body. It will make you sweat and your muscles might burn, but your body will thank you later (I promise). My boyfriend loves to do it with me too (an indoor date idea). Right now, they are offering a 7 day free trial of the app here. After the 7 day free trial, it is $20/month. You can also buy it for the whole year for $159/year (a special rate that ends today). If you don’t want to get a subscription, they also have a collection of classes you can try out for free here (no sign up required). They update these classes and add new ones! Also, they are doing a free live-stream of their classes here at 8am, 1pm, and 6pm MT while studios are closed (everyone has free access)!
2. Peloton
What I love about the Peloton app is that it has every category of workouts! You can go to the strength category and do a quick bodyweight exercise one day and then do yoga the next day. There is also cardio, meditation, indoor and outdoor running, cycling, stretching, bootcamp, walking, and more! They make it so easy to work out at home. Some of the workouts require equipment, but there are so many on there where you don’t need anything. Right now, they are doing a free 90 day trial! This is such a great deal! If you still like it after the 90 days, it is $12.99/month. You can start your free trial here!
If you want to relive your dancing days, this one is for you! Refit is such a fun dance cardio workout. It truly is so uplifting and encouraging. Refit is out of Waco, Texas (the town where I go to college). They have their headquarters studio there so I was able to take classes with the owners. They are all such genuine people and want to help people reach their fitness goals. I promise you that you will sweat, but you will have fun doing it. They are giving free access to their on demand classes right now and you can sign up here!
4. Sweat
Let me tell you these workouts are no joke, but they work! This app was made by Kayla Itsines, an Australian personal trainer. The first program she made was called BBG (bikini body guide) and it was basically a guide to get fit. Now, she has put all of the BBG workouts into an app and has added a BBG stronger program that uses more equipment. What I love about BBG is that they are only 28 minutes long, can be done at home, and you will see results. I started her BBG program in May 2018 and went through the 12 week program a couple of times before moving on to BBG 2.0, BBG 3.0, and now BBG stronger. I HIGHLY recommend this app. There are also other programs on there with other trainers. You can get a 7 day free trial when you download the app and then it is $19.99/month. You can start Sweat here!
5. Barre 3
Do you miss going to your Monday night barre classes? Well now you can do them from home! I have not tried this program, but I am excited to. I have gone to several barre classes and they are so great for strengthening your body. They are offering a 15 day free trial you can find here and then it is $29/month afterwards.
There are so many programs and apps out there, but these are just some of my favorites!
Now that you have this guide, I encourage you to start now (not tomorrow, not next week, and surely not next month). You can do it, I believe in you!
xoxo
Casey
I love yoga, and it’s so easy to do in the comfort of your home, on your own terms! I’ve used the Sweat app before too, it’s great!
Yes, they are awesome!
