The Ultimate Nashville Travel Guide

After spending a weekend in Nashville, I am sharing the best places to shop, eat, and to have fun! I was pleasantly surprised by how much there is to do in the city. I have a friend that lives there so I was able to stay with her. She lives in the cutest neighborhood! Overall, I would recommend Nashville for a weekend trip. If you are visiting Nashville soon or are hoping to go there soon, I hope this Ultimate Nashville Travel Guide helps you!

Places to shop

Nashville Travel Guide

Starting with my favorite activity: shopping. What I loved about shopping in Nashville was that there were so many unique boutiques. Some of them had very high-end pieces while others were more affordable. Where to go shopping in Nashville:

  1. 12th South: There are tons of shops and restaurants down 12th South. You can find popular stores like Stoney Clover and LoveShackFancy on this street, but they also have a ton of local boutiques. We went into this store called UAL. At first, I thought it was a thrift store, but it ended up being a liquidation store for very high end brands (Ulla Johnson, Jonathan Simkhai, Isabel Marant, etc.). I LOVED this store. You could get so many high end pieces for way less than their retail price. I probably could have spend a few hours in there. They have a few locations in the Nashville area. If you want to shop on 12th South, I would make sure you have a few hours to spend there because it takes awhile to go into every store.
  2. Green Hills: There is an outdoor shopping strip at Green Hills with popular stores like Lululemon, Anthropologie, Pottery Barn, among several others. They also have several cute local boutiques. There is a mall right next to the outdoor strip, but I did not have time to go into it.
  3. 11th Avenue S: This is another street with a bunch of shops and restaurants. Again, they have popular stores like Lululemon and Lucchese, but they also have local boutiques. This is the street where I got my custom cowgirl hat (sharing more details under things to do).

Places to eat

Nashville Travel Guide

I thought the food was pretty good in Nashville. I would say it is pretty comparable to Dallas. Here is a full list of where we ate/got drinks:

  1. Proper Bagel: We went here on a Friday morning and there was a pretty long line. It took about 30 minutes to get our food. They have a ton of bagels/cream cheese flavors to choose from (birthday cake, regular, etc). The bagel was decent, but I would recommend asking for light cream cheese or ask for it on the side because they put a ton on.
  2. 615 Deli: Came here for lunch on Friday. They had a ton of affordable options for sandwiches, salads, tacos, and more. If you want a healthy-ish, affordable meal, then I would recommend this place!
  3. Barcelona Wine Bar: I would recommend making a reservation here early and even if you have a reservation expect a small wait time! This place was packed on a Friday. They have a bunch of tapas and wine to choose from.
  4. Old Glory: Got drinks at this bar after going to dinner. I thought this place was so cool! If you want to grab drinks at a place that is not overly crowded with tourists and want a chill atmosphere, then I would definitely go here!
  5. Egghill: A great spot for a quick breakfast. We ordered breakfast sandwiches/coffee from this place and picked them up and it was really good!
  6. Greenery Co: Another great casual lunch spot! They have lots of healthy options! If you go, get a chocolate chip cookie, they were sooo good!
  7. Moto: This is an Italian restaurant. Food was good! We saw a famous NFL player there.

Things to do

Nashville Travel Guide
  1. Rustler Hat Co: This was an unforgettable experience! I had the BEST time making a custom cowgirl hat. I have always wanted to make one. We were walking down the street when we came across this place. It is on the pricier side, but 1000% worth it. You can watch my TikTok showing my entire experience here.
  2. Broadway: This is definitely the area with all of the tourists. There were tons of tour buses, bachelorette parties, etc, but it is so fun! We went to Jason Aldean’s bar and they had live music before 10pm. After 10pm, they brought out a DJ. You can have fun on Broadway at any time of the day (it is always packed).
  3. Drive through Vanderbilt/Belmont Campus: We drove past these two college campuses just to check them out. Belmont has such a pretty campus!

I hope this Nashville Travel Guide gave you some ideas on what to do while you visit! I definitely had more of a chill weekend while I was there and tried to stay away from a lot of the “touristy” things to do. Depending on what you want to do, you cannot go wrong with any of the options I mentioned.
